There is a really cool web site out there, and it is free, that makes available all sorts of drug and formulary reference guides with some valuable patient education materials and other tools for clinical uses. Recently they have enhanced the site and made even more information available. Now there is drug interaction information, drug dosing information, and health plan coverage information. Say you take Prevacid. You’re getting another prescription filled. Might these new pills conflict? You can go online and view a Prevacid pill to eliminate the guesswork which could lead to drug errors. Another neat thing is that clinicians can go on and print out all sorts of FAQs, in English and Spanish, about medications and provide these to patients. More than 3300 drugs are in their database. This site is quite nice, so check it out!
