HELP! WHAT IS THIS?
So I was in Steamboat for a couple days. In the condo (which was deelux by the way - Canyon Creek at EagleRidge) there were 3 of these things in a little desk which was where people sit their laptops in order to plug in to the network. No wireless! Anyway, we were totally stumped as to what these are. Have a look:
These things are maybe bagel sized, rubber, and the connector in the middle does not move. You can invert the top and bottom halves. They are too big to be some sort of birth control device. I guess you could put your weed in it. But for what are they intended? Are they for you to wrap a network cable? I don't know.. someone's gotta know..

If they are birth control, I'd hate to meet the woman it belongs to. From the way the little mouth opens up and the spindle in the middle, I think you were right in assuming it was something used to store cable or wires of some sort.
Some sort of suction for the laptop? To keep it from sliding?
Heather said it looks like a portable humidifier. Or a fake asshole.
F-in A, MM, that girl's a keeper! Fake asshole, I'm dyin!!!!!!!!!!!
oh, i know what that is!
it's a cord protector. you wrap the extra cord inside, and the opening is for the outgoing/incoming cord from the wall/to whatever you're pugging in. like those windy iPod earphones without the windy mechanism.
i'm going to go look at myself in the mirror and repeat "i'm not a technophile" ten times now.
gijyun, thanks! that does sound right. i mean, so does the fake asshole idea..
