Eating pizza 'cuts cancer risk'

There is an article from the BBC that says:

Italian researchers say eating pizza could protect against cancer.

Wouldn't this be, as the expression goes, "Like a fox guarding the henhouse"? There are some other articles about eating and the effects. Some say eating all kinds of things help. And some say the opposite. But that is how everything is these days. Good one day. Bad the next. Good. Bad. Whatever.
