It's Almost Here!

On Monday I am going somewhere I haven’t gone in forever, and I thought I would never go again: Kentucky Fried F-in Chicken. Or, KGC. And not just to pee in the bathroom. To order this. The Double Down Sandwich. The down-low:

The new KFC Double Down sandwich is real and it’s coming April 12th! This one-of-a-kind sandwich features two thick and juicy boneless white meat chicken filets (Original Recipe or Grilled), two pieces of bacon, two melted slices of Monterey Jack and pepper jack cheese and Colonel’s Sauce. This product is so meaty, there’s no room for a bun! The Double Down comes in two versions: Original Recipe or Grilled.

I’m going to get one of each. Since the meat patties are the buns I wonder how it will be presented – in the ad it appears to be wrapped in paper. And will it be round, or rectangle, or something? And the fried “buns” look pretty cool – almost ‘bun-ish’ – in the ad; what will the grilled version look like? Too bad the sandwiches have on them whatever the Colonel Sauce is. I strongly dislike added condiments other than ketchup or mustard or most BBQ sauces. But like challenges should be tackled the way nature intended, new menu items should be ordered as they were developed.
